Cub Scout Fall Recruiting Starts in August

Silver Comet Pack Leaders, Fall Recruiting is just around the corner and our Membership Committee, District Executives, and Commissioners are ready to partner with you in making this our best year ever for Cub recruiting.

Listen to our Membership Chair and District Executive discuss this year's Fall Recruiting campaign and how Packs can make their efforts successful on our Silver Comet Membership Fall Recruiting Podcast.

This is our first recruiting campaign to bring girls as well as boys into Scouting and we want to welcome the girls into the Packs that are ready and able to provide them with a great Scouting experience. To let Families know whether your Charter Organization and your Pack have decided to form Dens for girls this Fall, please have your authorized Leader(s) go to my.scouting.org/ log in, and update your Unit's "pin" with the relevant membership information. Go to this document for detailed guidance on accessing and editing your Pack's Beascout "pin".

Please also look at the District website "Cub Scouts" page and note the "Family Scouting" information listed for your Pack. If it needs to be changed please send updated information to https://www.silvercometdistrictbsa.org/contact

Cub Scout Fall Recruiting Training at June Roundtable

Pack leaders, June Roundtable will feature a special breakout dedicated to Fall Recruiting! Please make sure that your recruiting coordinator attends this important training. If your pack doesn't have a volunteer that specifically coordinates your school sign up process, it would still be appropriate to send someone to this breakout to collect information for your pack on how to run a successful fall recruiting season. If possible, have your Pack representative bring a Pack calendar for the 2019/20 school year, information about your Pack meeting place (night, address, Chartered Organization name, and time that your pack meets), and information about your annual Pack dues. Our District Executives, Hubert Snow and JoAnna Zackery, will use this information to create your recruiting materials. If you can get this information to the DEs by June Roundtable or by July 8th at the latest, you will be able to pick up your recruiting materials at the July Roundtable Picnic.

This fall recruiting training will help your Pack be prepared for a busy back-to-school Cub Scout season, so please make every effort to have a Pack representative attend!

Attend the District Program Kickoff event at the May Roundtable and we'll set you up to earn the Summertime Pack Award, ease the stress of fall recruiting, get your new and existing leaders trained, introduce you to district staff that can answer your burning questions, and help you plan your Pack calendar.
