Silver Comet Cub Scout Sign-Up Events
The Cobb County School District has implemented a new policy that places limitations on recruitment
activities within elementary and middle schools. As disappointing as this new lack of access is,
we know that a Scout is flexible, and we are going to PIVOT!
The District is pleased to announce a series of community recruiting events being held around Cobb County. Packs should choose the event they'd like to attend, and utilize the provided marketing materials (or create your own) driving people interested in signing up to the event. Advertise on social media and hand out flyers anywhere and everywhere in between now and the date of the event. The District will provide the FUN (inflatables, games, food, face painting, and more) and you show up and focus on signing up those new Scouts!

Family-to-Family Recruitment Challenge
Challenge runs from
September 18th – 23rd , 2023
All you have to do is ask your families to bring their friends and neighbors to join your pack!
Will there be prizes for your amazing recruitment efforts?
Packs that have a growth of 20+ new scouts
will be entered in for a prize of two free registrations for either Spring Family Cub-A-Ree or Fall Family Spooky-Ree. ( 2 Prizes Available)
Packs that have 10 or more families join this week will be entered into a drawing for a district sponsored pizza party for your pack/troop.
Or Equivalent value for an already planned event.
Packs that have 10 or more families join this week will also be entered to win either Astronaut Ice Cream, Solar Robots, or Cub Scout Pop Its for all of their registered scouts.
A family that recruits the greatest number of scouts will be entered to win a smore-making set

Social Media Advertisement
The Atlanta Area Council is offering to reimburse Packs up to $25.00 for Facebook or other social media ads that advertise your Pack sign-up night event. Below are the Facebook Advertising strategies for your Pack with some helpful guidelines to ensure a successful sign-up event.
Create an event on your Unit’s Facebook page that is at 2 weeks prior to your Sign-up Night (no less than 1 week)
Create an ad to boost your event on Facebook. Utilize the following to narrow who sees your ad to ensure the right people see it.
Select your school or zip code.
Parents of youth 6-13
Once your campaign is over, print your receipt from Facebook/Instagram and submit it to your John or Annie. The Council will reimburse you up to $25.00 for your ad.

school social media sites, etc.
The New Cobb County School District Policy
Updated 8/28/23 - The Council, district, and school board continue to work together towards a resolution. We're seeing some progress, and hope to have further updates soon.
Yard Signs are allowed.
Principals Email Newsletters allowed.
Sign Up nights hosted at schools are allowed.
Packs and Troops can attend School Open House events.
Outside Organizations are not allowed to Solicit children.
No Flyers are allowed to be sent home.
No Classroom Visits Allowed.
No Morning Announcements.
No Car Rider Lines.
