Nominations are now open for the District Award of Merit and the Silver Comet Conductor Awards!

Behind every successful Scouting unit are dedicated people who give their time, share their talents, solve problems, and go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of young people. They’re the leaders who always show up, the volunteers who quietly keep everything running, and the people who make Scouting better for everyone around them.

Now is your chance to make sure those people get the recognition they deserve!

The Silver Comet District is inviting nominations for two special awards celebrating the outstanding service and dedication of the people who make our Scouting community strong.

District Award of Merit

The District Award of Merit recognizes registered Scouters who provide outstanding service to youth and demonstrate a meaningful commitment to Scouting at the district level and beyond.

Do you know a volunteer whose contributions extend beyond the walls of their own unit? Someone who consistently supports other leaders, strengthens Scouting throughout our district, or makes an extraordinary impact on the program? Help us shine a spotlight on their service.

Silver Comet Conductor Awards

Not every outstanding volunteer wears a uniform or holds a registered Scouting position. Sometimes, the people who make the biggest difference are the ones working behind the scenes.

The Silver Comet Conductor Award recognizes adults who consistently go above and beyond to support their unit. Think of the committee member who keeps everything organized, the assistant leader who is always ready to lend a hand, or the parent who makes sure the details never fall through the cracks.

These everyday heroes help keep our units moving forward, and they deserve to be celebrated! Nominees do not need to be registered Scouters.

Don't Let a Great Scouter Go Unrecognized!

We all know someone who makes Scouting better. Someone whose dedication inspires others, whose support makes difficult jobs easier, or whose behind-the-scenes contributions often go unnoticed.

Take a few minutes to nominate them. Your nomination is an opportunity to tell their story, recognize their impact, and show them that their hard work matters.

Unit leaders, committee members, commissioners, and Scouting families: please help spread the word! Talk with your fellow volunteers, identify deserving candidates, and make nominations a priority.

Let's make sure the outstanding people who give so much to Scouting in Silver Comet receive the appreciation they have earned.

Great Scouters make great Scouting. Let's celebrate ours!
