Silver Comet District Nominating Committee
The District Nominating Committee is responsible for identifying candidates qualified and willing to serve as the District Officers ( District Chairman, District Commissioner, and District Vice Chairmen). The Committee also identifies Scouters qualified and willing to serve as District Members at Large who will contribute to the many aspects of District Scouting, including Finance, Membership, and all of the Program areas and Operating Committees.
SUBMITTING A NOMINATION
Anyone may nominate a person for any of the District positions. Email and written nominations are accepted however the District Nomination Form at the link below is preferred. Use of this form will greatly assist the Committee in evaluating the candidates equally.
If at all possible, please determine whether an individual is willing to serve in the position for which you are nominating them before sending their name and position recommendation to the Committee.

SELECTION OF INDIVIDUALS FOR DISTRICT POSITIONS
The Nominating Committee will, with the assistance of our Council Professional staff,
select a “slate” of candidates for the District Chair and Vice Chair(s) and a separate slate of candidates to serve as District Members at Large. They will also select an individual to recommend to the Council as our District Commissioner.
Election of District Officers and Members at Large takes place at the District Annual Business Meeting.
DISTRICT ELECTIONS
Elections will be held in-person at the Annual Business Meeting on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 at 7:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
To elect district officers and district members at large.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE:

Chartered organization representatives registered and currently representing chartered organizations within the district’s geographical boundaries. The chartered organization representative is automatically a voting member of the council and the district upon the selection or appointment by the community organization and when registered as a member of the Boy Scouts of America. The individual is to be registered during the time that the chartered organization designates this person as chartered organization representative and shall have one vote.

Registered district members at large duly elected at the last
annual district committee meeting or during the interim at a regular, duly called district committee meeting. -
Registered council members at large residing in the district.
